Northern Portugal Circuit

Departure at the scheduled time for northern Portugal. Brief stops en route. Arrival at the hotel, room allocation, and lunch. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast. Departure for Porto with a local guide. A city renowned for its bridges, history, and wine, we will tour its grand modernist avenue, Liberty Square, the exterior of the Lello Bookstore, inspiration for J.K. Rowling, and Santa Catarina Street, the commercial heart of the city. We will also see the Stock Exchange Palace and the Crystal Palace Gardens. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Aveiro, known as the “Venice of Portugal.” Enjoy a stroll through the Beira Mar neighborhood, with its canals, traditional houses, and colorful moliceiros, typical boats. Boat ride included. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Breakfast. Departure for Coimbra, a university city and the birthplace of the Portuguese monarchy. Walk through its historic center with the exteriors of the main monuments: the University of Coimbra, the Joanina Library, the Chapel of St. Michael, the University Tower, the New Cathedral, and the Almedina Gate. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Santa Maria da Feira, where its medieval castle stands out (admission included). Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast. Departure to Guimarães, a World Heritage city. We will visit the Castle, the Chapel of San Miguel, the Paseo de Santiago and the impressive Palace of the Dukes of Bragança (admission included). Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Braga, with its charming old town: Cathedral, Santa Barbara Gardens, Keep, Republic Square, and the famous sanctuaries of Bom Jesus and Sameiro. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

Breakfast and free morning to enjoy the hotel facilities or explore the area. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, excursion to Viseu, starting at the Largo da Sé, with the Cathedral, the Church of Misericórdia, the Church of the Thirds of Saint Francis, and Aquilino Ribeiro Park. We will also visit the Chapel of Our Lady of Victories. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
