Departure at the indicated time towards Asturias. Brief stops along the way. Arrival at the hotel, room distribution, and lunch. In the afternoon, we will visit Cabo de Peñas, the northernmost point of Asturias, a spectacular natural viewpoint with cliffs facing the Cantabrian Sea. Afterwards, we will visit Avilés, an industrial city transformed into a vibrant cultural center, featuring landmarks such as the Óscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre and the Palacio Valdés Theater. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Breakfast. In the morning, departure to Oviedo with a local guide. We will enjoy a panoramic tour of San Francisco Park, the Gabinona Fountain, and the Campoamor Theater. On foot, we will explore the historic center, visiting the Cathedral of El Salvador, Plaza de la Escandalera, Botero’s famous sculpture “La Gorda,” and streets featuring French-style architecture. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit Luarca, the white town of the western coast, known for its traditional port and stunning views. We will continue to Cudillero, a charming fishing village with colorful hanging houses nestled on the hillside of a cliff. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Breakfast. Departure towards the Picos de Europa National Park. We will visit the Cave of Covadonga, where the remains of King Pelayo and the image of the Virgin of Covadonga (“La Santina”) rest. We will stroll around the basilica and the Royal Site. Ascent to the Lakes of Covadonga (entrance included), one of the most iconic landscapes in northern Spain (ascent subject to weather conditions). We will continue to Cangas de Onís, the former Asturian capital and a key location in the Reconquista. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, route through the Nalón Basin, the heart of Asturian mining, with a visit to the Mining Museum (entrance included), located in a former mine, where we will learn about the industrial history of coal. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Breakfast. In the morning, visit to Villaviciosa, the Asturian cider capital, declared a historic site. We will visit the famous El Gaitero cider house (entrance and tasting included), where we will learn about the production process of this emblematic drink and enjoy a tasting. At the indicated time, departure towards the place of origin. Brief stops along the way. Lunch at the client’s expense. Arrival and end of our services.
