Itinerary

Day 1 Origin – Jaca

Departure at the indicated time towards the Aragonese Pyrenees. Brief stops along the way. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit to Jaca, a monumental jewel on the Way of St. James. We will discover the Cathedral of San Pedro, one of the first Romanesque cathedrals built in Spain and a landmark of the Camino de Santiago, as well as the Citadel of Jaca, a 16th-century fortress unique in Spain for preserving its original star-shaped layout. Free time to stroll through its lively center. Arrival at the hotel, room distribution, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2 Ordesa National Park – Torla – Monastery of San Juan de la Peña

Breakfast. In the morning, departure towards Torla, gateway to the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park. We will stroll through this picturesque Pyrenean village and enjoy a short walk along the initial trails of the park to admire the stunning natural surroundings. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, departure to the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña. We will visit both the old monastery, embedded in the rock, and the new monastery. This monastic site was of great importance during the Middle Ages and holds valuable examples of Aragonese Romanesque art. We will also visit the churches of Santa Cruz de la Serós. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3 Barbastro – Huesca

Breakfast. Departure towards Barbastro, capital of the Somontano region. We will stroll through the Entremuro quarter with its medieval layout, and see the Cathedral of the Assumption, Argensola Street with its Renaissance architecture, and the Market Square featuring modernist buildings. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, guided visit to Huesca. We will explore its Gothic cathedral, built over an ancient mosque, the Town Hall, the former university, the Royal Palace, and its walls. We will tour both the old town and the expansion areas. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 4 Senegüé – Sallent de Gállego – Panticosa – Aínsa

Breakfast. Departure towards Senegüé to visit the glacier interpretation center, where we will learn about the formation of the Tena Valley and its geological surroundings. We continue to Sallent de Gállego, a typical high-mountain village featuring traditional architecture, a Romanesque church, and the sculpture of the town giant. After a brief stop in Formigal, we continue to Panticosa, known for its beautiful Church of the Assumption and the Caldares River waterfalls. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, departure to Aínsa. Its historic center preserves a magnificent Main Square and 11th-century walls, as well as the collegiate church and castle. We will stroll through its cobbled streets and soak in the medieval atmosphere. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 5 Sos del Rey Católico – Monastery of Leyre – Foz de Lumbier

Breakfast. Departure to visit Sos del Rey Católico with a local guide. This beautiful medieval town was the birthplace of Ferdinand the Catholic. We will stroll through its cobbled streets, and visit its castle, the Church of San Esteban, the market hall, the Jewish quarter, and the city walls. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, visit to the Monastery of Leyre, one of the great treasures of Navarrese Romanesque art. We will visit its church, crypt, and the Porta Speciosa, as well as the royal pantheon. We continue towards the Foz de Lumbier, a natural gorge inhabited by griffon vultures, rich in landscapes and heritage as part of the Camino de Santiago. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 6 Origin

Breakfast. Departure at the indicated time towards the place of origin. Brief stops along the way. Lunch at the client’s expense. Arrival and end of our services.
