In this 4-day circuit, you’ll explore the beauty of Andorra, from the Meritxell Sanctuary to the charming old town of Encamp. You’ll visit the vibrant Andorra la Vella, the impressive Engolasters Lake, and the picturesque village of Pal. Additionally, you’ll cross the border into the French Cerdagne to enjoy its alpine landscapes and towns full of history, such as Puigcerdà. A comprehensive journey that combines nature, heritage, and tradition.
Departure at the scheduled time for Andorra. Brief stops en route. Arrival at the hotel, room allocation, and lunch. In the afternoon, departure to visit the Sanctuary of Meritxell (entrance included), part of the Marian Route, an itinerary of faith, spirituality, and devotion that passes through beautiful landscapes. Next, we will visit Encamp, located in the heart of Andorra. It has a picturesque old town where monuments stand out, such as the Church of Santa Eulalia, considered the tallest tower in all of Andorra. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Breakfast. Departure for a visit to Andorra la Vella, where we will see the Casa de la Vall (admission included), the former headquarters of the General Council (Andorra’s parliament). You can see the old kitchen and rooms, the Hall of the Lost Steps, the Cabinet of the 7 Keys, and in the gardens you will find the tower dovecote, a baptismal font, a cross, and contemporary commemorative sculptures. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, visit Engolasters Lake, of glacial origin, known for an interesting legend. Its waters are used to supply the country’s power plant. Afterwards, we will continue to Escaldes-Engordany, the second most populated parish in the Principality of Andorra, made up of two urban centers that were originally separate: Engordany (the oldest) and Escaldes. We will visit the Escaldes-Engordany Art Museum (admission included), located in a historic building built by the monks of Montserrat. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast. Departure for a tour of Alta Cerdanya, entering through Bourg-Madame, continuing through Saillagouse towards Mont-Louis, stopping in this beautiful French town, listed as part of the Vauban fortifications as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will continue towards the Capcir region to reach Lake Matemale. We will continue towards Alta Cerdanya and pass through Font Romeu and other high mountain villages. Lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit Puigcerdà, the historic capital of Cerdanya. We will stroll through its old town, where we will find religious temples such as the Church of Santo Tomás de Ventajola and the 12th-century bell tower, the only visible remains of the old church of Santa María. We’ll also tour Cabrinetty Square (known as Plaza Mayor since the 13th century) and see the artificial lake that served as a tool for irrigating the surrounding lands. Return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Breakfast. Departure to visit Pal, one of the most beautiful and best-preserved villages in all of Andorra. We’ll stroll through its picturesque streets full of stone houses and slate roofs. We’ll see the exterior of the Church of San Clemente, considered one of the best examples of Andorran Romanesque architecture. Weather permitting, we’ll go up to the ski resort. Next, we’ll have free time in Andorra la Vella. Lunch at the hotel. Departure at the indicated time for the origin. Brief stops en route. Arrival and end of our services.
